Stoughton Health received a five star rating when the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released updated patient experience star ratings. CMS has assigned a Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) summary star rating to a total of 3,478 hospitals as of July 31. CMS’ summary star rating scores hospitals on a one-to-five-star scale with one being low and five high. The star rating is based on the 10 publicly reported measures in the HCAHPS survey, which assesses patient experiences. The most common overall hospital rating is three stars. Stoughton Hospital is one of only 266 hospital nationwide to receive a five star rating.
“I am really proud of our team. We work very hard to provide the best possible care to our patients and their families and to be in the top 8% for patient experience, I know we’re providing outstanding quality care and customer service to our patients,” shares Dan DeGroot, Stoughton Hospital’s President and CEO.
Kevin Stokstad, Chairperson of Stoughton Health’s Board of Directors, states “During the time I have worked with Stoughton Health I have been incredibly impressed with the focus on customer service and making sure our patients and families are our number one priority. It’s wonderful to be a part of such a caring organization.”
