Stoughton Health Repurposes Oak Trees as First Steps in Expansion Project

Jul 17, 2023 | News & Notes

Trees marked in green for repurposing and use in the new medical office building.

With the upcoming medical outpatient building (MOB) project anticipated to begin in early fall, Stoughton Health will be taking the first steps by adding additional parking for staff and visitors.  This work is slated to begin the week of July 17.  In order to minimize disruption during the primary building phase, additional parking is first in a sequence of steps as the hospital prepares for this growth. Trees have been flagged with red and green ribbons near the rock wall in the main hospital patient parking area, green ribbons indicate the trees will be re-used and red for removal.   “We’re excited to be able to repurpose so many of these beautiful oaks and integrate them into the interior of the new medical outpatient building.  “We’ll have a part of the past in our building, as we move into the future,” stated Teresa Lindfors, Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer.

Stoughton Health plans to add a large number and variety of evergreen and deciduous trees, shrubs and grasses to keep the campus green Lindfors went on to share.
