Stoughton Hospital has been recognized as one of Wisconsin’s hospitals earning a five-star rating for nurse communication by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), as highlighted in a recent list compiled by Becker’s Hospital Review using Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) data.
Wisconsin led the nation with 44 hospitals receiving five-star ratings for nurse communication—the most of any state in the country. The rating reflects how well patients felt nurses explained things clearly, listened carefully, and treated them with courtesy and respect. The ratings are based on patient survey data collected between July 2024 and June 2025.
