Stoughton Health has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography following a recent review by the American College of Radiology® (ACR®).
Mammography uses a low-dose X-ray system to examine breast tissue and is an important tool in the early detection and diagnosis of breast disease.
The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. Accreditation is awarded to facilities that meet specific requirements based on ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards following a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
During the accreditation process, Stoughton Health was evaluated on image quality, personnel qualifications, equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
The three-year accreditation reflects Stoughton Health’s continued commitment to providing high-quality mammography services and convenient access to care close to home.
