Stoughton Hospital has been named the best Critical Access Hospital in Wisconsin for Patient Outcomes by the Lown Institute, a well-known health care group. This honor comes from the hospital’s great clinical results and high patient satisfaction.
The Lown Institute scores hospitals on patient outcomes through review of the following metrics:
• Overall death rates
• Readmission rates
• Patient experiences, including cleanliness and communication with doctors
This information comes from Medicare claims and patient surveys by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Stoughton Hospital also did well in the Value of Care and Cost categories. It’s important to know that these rankings are independent, and hospitals don’t need to apply or pay to be included.
“The Stoughton Health team is outstanding at taking care of our patients, their families, and supporting each other. Our culture of Excellence Together, an employee-driven initiative, ensures we continue to provide the highest quality healthcare in a personalized manner,” shared Chris Brabant, Stoughton Health’s President & CEO.
“Achieving excellent patient outcomes requires leadership, communication, and a commitment to keep improving,” said Vikas Saini, MD, president of the Lown Institute. “It’s a difficult task, but the hospitals at the top of our list show that it can be done.”
