Effective Communication Strategies

May 22 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Free

“I don’t know if I should finish my mom’s sentences for her.”

Communication is more than just talking and listening – it’s also about sending and receiving messages through attitude, tone of voice,
facial expressions and body language. Join us to learn about:

  • How to connect with family even when they lose the ability to use their words.
  • How to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by your loved one.
  • Strategies to help you communicate at each stage of the disease.
  • Tips for common caregiver communication challenges.

Presented in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association.

Designed for individuals who have regular interaction with someone with dementia (as a caregiver, family member, neighbor or friend).
