After almost seven years of dedicated service to Stoughton Health and the community, President/CEO Dan DeGroot, has announced his planned retirement from Stoughton Health effective December 31, 2024. After a distinguished career spanning over four decades in the healthcare industry, DeGroot has decided to step down to spend more time with his family and friends.
“Serving as CEO of Stoughton Health has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life,” said DeGroot. “I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together as a team, and I have no doubt that Stoughton Health will continue to thrive and provide exceptional care to our community.”
Under DeGroot’s leadership, Stoughton Health experienced significant growth and success. During COVID, Dan recognized the value of working together and initiated a touch base meeting with the City, Schools, Chamber, and Hospital which continues today. He was the driving force for the opening of McFarland Urgent Care Clinic and acquiring the Community Health and Wellness Center located at County B and Hwy 51. Dan was instrumental in the opening of a Cardiology Clinic at Stoughton Hospital, expanding orthopedic care, and the building of a 56,000-square-foot Medical Outpatient Center slated to open spring of 2025, and working toward full-time urgent care sites in Oregon and Cottage Grove.
